Why I Started RankGen: Building an SEO Company in Kerala From Experience, Not Just an Idea
There are moments in your career when you realize that you are ready to build something of your own.
For me, that moment has finally arrived.
After years of working in SEO, digital marketing, website development, content strategy, Google Ads, Local SEO, and search optimization, I have taken one of the biggest professional steps of my career: starting my own SEO company in Kerala RankGen.
RankGen was founded by Dilshad Mirsha, together with my co-founder Misbah Muhammad. Our goal is simple: help businesses become more visible where their customers are searching — from Google Search and Google Maps to the rapidly evolving world of AI-powered search.
But RankGen is not something we decided to create overnight.

From Learning Digital Marketing to Choosing SEO
When I first started learning digital marketing, I knew I wanted to build something of my own one day.
Digital marketing has many different areas, but SEO was the field that naturally attracted me the most.
I enjoyed understanding why a website ranks, why another website outranks it, how search intent works, how content can attract qualified visitors, and how technical improvements can influence organic visibility.
Over time, SEO became more than something I was learning.
It became the area where I wanted to build my career.

Some projects involved technical problems. Others involved content. Some required improving local visibility, while others required understanding highly competitive search results.
Working across different industries helped me understand an important lesson:
